FAQ

Do I have to wait till "open enrollment" to get private health coverage?

That is only for ACA/Obamacare and government plans. Private insurance is available year-round.

Is private
health coverage expensive?

Private health coverage is not as expensive than you think!  Since the premiums are based on your
health, your income will not affect cost of your plan.  Most people find that they are saving $1200-$3800 a year.

Will I qualify for private
health coverage?

Of course you can.  You don't have to be a professional athlete, but if you are in good health, you are definitely a strong candidate.  Of course there are some considerations that can be made, but if you don't have major pre-existing conditions like heart attack, stroke, diabetes, then a private plan is going to be the best option for you.

Explain ACA Marketplace(Obamacare), Employer Coverage, and Private
Health Coverage:

ACA/Obamacare is best for those with pre-existing conditions or those needing maternity coverage. It is affordable if you are under the income threshold that qualifies you for government subsidies. If you aren't getting government assistance, it is extremely expensive. These plans are mostly high premium/high deductibles because anyone can get on them.

Most employer plans are great for the employee because the employer is legally responsible to pay 50% of the employee's monthly premium. The downside is that the employer is not responsible for paying anything towards family add-ons. This causes the price to jump up significantly when adding family members and can get pretty costly because the family will be paying full price to be added to the plan.

Private insurance is medically underwritten, meaning you have to qualify based on your health. Since you are in a lower-risk pool of people, you get a lower premium and preferred rates, so they are more affordable than most plans with BETTER coverage.

Are Private
Health Coverages Nationwide?

YES!

Private coverage is port
able to go with you nationwide, on or off the job!.  All private options are on major PPO networks, which allows you the freedom to pick your doctors and do not limit your coverage like most county/state like plans.  You are covered anywhere you go!
